# Conversations

The conversation list is the left panel of the inbox. It shows all conversations across your workspace, sorted by most recent activity.

## Conversation preview

Each conversation in the list displays:

- **User name** — the name or email of the user. When multiple users are in a conversation, the first name is shown followed by "+ N more".
- **Last message** — a plain text preview of the most recent message, truncated to two lines.
- **Timestamp** — relative time since the last activity.
- **Unread indicator** — a blue dot for unread conversations, or a chevron for read ones.
- **Typing and error status** — a typing animation when the assistant is working, or a warning icon if the last message errored.

## Unread tracking

Conversations are marked as read when you view their messages. The blue dot disappears and the indicator changes to a chevron. Conversations are not marked as read while the tab is in the background or you are idle, so you won't miss anything.
